Driscoll Turns One

On Saturday (April 18), our little guy turned one. I can hardly believe it, they grow up so fast, seems like just yesterday, etc. We had a few friends over to celebrate, mostly just those with kids (who else goes to one-year-old birthday parties?). Anyway, it was fun. A few pics…

    Beems,

You should have never sent me a link to your blog since I am now commenting on every post you have. I simply can’t help myself.

    A couple of thoughts:

    1. He is AWESOME. I can’t believe he’s one. What a handsome kid. A trip to San Francisco is in order so he can finally meet Mr. Graham.

    2. I love the photo of your friend in the Bears hat swinging him. He looks completely unfazed as if it is the most normal thing in the world.

    3. While I never like to see a child cry (especially a child of someone I know), I get a strange satisfaction looking at the photos of him with a Yankees hat on (in the full gallery). Clearly he’s an Astros fan and that makes me like him even more.

Best best to you and Kirsten and the little man.

    John

I love it Roehm. Makes me feel like I have readers. Or, reader(s). One thing though, the pic of my friend Aaron swinging Driscoll isn’t Driscoll, it’s his buddy Theo. But otherwise, you’re dead on, he’s awesome, and he does need to visit SF (and Graham) soon.

Now, tell me, how is it that when I visit Graham-I-Am I get only pics? Here you are an aspiring writer, and one of the best email composers I know. Where’s the prose?

Oh. Since they are both similarly dressed, I got mixed up as to which kid was which. Hmm.

Geez, this is hard. Well, I’m just going to say it. I hope you won’t take this the wrong way, but it was actually the other kid with the striped shirt that I was thinking was so “AWESOME’.

I mean Driscoll’s fine and everything, but, I dunno, maybe you could ask your friends if they’d like to visit us in SF instead? Or maybe Theo has a blog too?

You understand, right? Its not personal. I just want the best possible playmates for my child.

Sorry. I couldn’t resist. In all seriousness, we hope you will visit soon. I wish we had had the chance to meet him already, but seeing all these photos are a nice substitute.

Maybe someday I will have a blog as well, but I think that when/if I ever find the time to write, I’ll probably do something longer form. I’m not sure blogging is the best medium for me.

You have the quite the knack for it, however.
