Questions of Parenthood

Who hasn’t asked them, am I right? What parent out there hasn’t suspected that their spouse snuck out and conceived “their” child with someone else? Admittedly, it would be trickier for the dads out there to pull this off, but what with science and all, I bet it could be done.

With that in mind, I endeavored to determine, once and for all, who Driscoll’s parents really are. Scientifically. Let’s look at the evidence.

This is Kirsten and Driscoll. So far, it’s looking likely that Kirsten is, indeed, Driscoll’s mother.

Hmm. We both have pacifiers, though I don’t believe those are genetic. He does appear to have my hair.

Driscoll has much more avocado on his face than did Kirsten at a similar stage.

Ah, mouth breathers! These 2 (me and Driscoll) are clearly related.

Truth is, it’s a good thing Driscoll isn’t a dead ringer for either of his parents, because that might not have gone well…

Good work there, detective. It’s no CSI: Miami, but it’ll do.

My question for Kirsten is: when are you bringing back that hairstyle? The one in the last photo. There’s nothing quite like the, um, shaved-punk-sides/mullet/?? look, I always say. Oh, and of course, Beeman, your crewcut was, um, very orderly as well. I also appreciate your inability or unwillingness to even attempt to hide your complete disdain for the photographer.

You know just last night as I was laying on my tummy, propping my face on my wrists, I thought yeah, I did make that hairdo look really good! But it took so much product and up keep. I stopped wearing my hair that way in the late nineties. Maybe it’s time…

OMG, my stomach hurts from laughing at these pics.

Kirkie was so adorable despite the tribulations with hair (wow!). i love the seated pose the best!

i also love the one of Driscoll reaching toward the camera. it makes it look like he is holding the camera for a self portrait, as is so commonly seen now among the cell phone camera generation. Of course, Driscoll is adorable in all the photos.

Now, as for you Beeman…you better go diggin back through the albums some more – there has to be at least a few acceptable photos of you, no??! I guess the good think is you turned out OK. The last one looks remarkably like your father.

    thanks for the chuckle
    Nick

What fun are “acceptable” pics? Actually, these are just from the slideshow at our rehearsal, for which we intentionally chose goofy ones. So I don’t know if there are better pics of me out there, but I can tell you this: there are worse.

    Thanks for reading Nick!

Oh, yeah, and your comment about the last pic looking like my dad is dead on! I debated about whether that was even me, or if it perhaps was my dad, but figured if I left it in the slideshow I must have been sure it was me.

These pictures are awesome – I love the website. Driscoll has the best of the both of you and – thank God – none of your worst…..

    Love,
    Anne

PS – Beeman, whatever the cost, I will pay to ensure no hideous pictures of me ever make it on your blog!

Now how could hideous pictures of you exist, Anne? :)

Actually the only old pic of you I have is at your wedding, talking to flower-girl Kirsten. You look beautiful. But I bet if I combed through the photo-booth pics from our wedding I could find one of you joining the rest of your siblings striking some “unfortunate” pose.
